Welcome

The following are reviews of some of my favorite children's books. Many of them have won prestigious awards, and all of them ignite the imagination like a good book should. I hope that you can enjoy these books just as much as I have!

Spiders

Bishop, N. (2007). Spiders. NY: Scholastic.

Summary:
This book takes readers into the thrilling world of spiders, incorporating facts about all facets of spider life alongside real photographs. The photographs are enlarged so that readers can see even the finest details that wouldn’t be visible to the naked eye. For any student interested in learning more about the animal kingdom, this book is sure to please.

Notes:
The large and eye-catching photography make this a wonderful introduction to non-fiction, informational books - especially for reluctant readers.

Extension:
Write a creative fictional story about a spider, but incorporate 3 of the facts you learned from this book.
