Welcome

The following are reviews of some of my favorite children's books. Many of them have won prestigious awards, and all of them ignite the imagination like a good book should. I hope that you can enjoy these books just as much as I have!

Gregor the Overlander

Collins, S. (2004). Gregor the Overlander. NY: Scholastic.

Summary:
After falling into the Underland, a strange place far below earth’s surface, Gregor must figure out a way to return back to his normal life. However, he soon realizes that things aren’t as safe as they appear, leading Gregor on the journey of a lifetime to find his father and help his unusual new friends.

Notes:
This novel has an excellent description of setting. It would be an ideal book for students interested in novels involving quests and high fantasy.

Extension:
Write a diary entry recording what happened in today's reading from Luxa's point of view.
